This paper mainly analyzes and compares the current general technology management mode of Chinese mold manufacturing enterprises and the technology management mode based on the accumulation of classification advocated by the author. It is emphasized that if the management is carried out from the perspective of the company's technical system, it is extremely beneficial to the development of mold manufacturing enterprises

I. overview of technology management mode of mold manufacturing enterprises

in the past 20 years, China's mold manufacturing enterprises have made great progress in mold design, but the technology management is relatively backward and passive. As for the technical management of mold manufacturing enterprises, I mentioned in another article: "the systematic accumulation of design experience requires great effort and time, and there is still a long way to go before the overall maturity." The only way to become a powerful mold manufacturing enterprise is to mature the technical system

for mold manufacturing enterprises, the management of technical work is a relatively important link, which is no less important than the management of business work. All units attach great importance to the management of the liquidity and correctness of technical documents. However, due to the outdated concept, they often ignore the other functions of their own technical data. This also affects the systematic accumulation of design experience and the progress speed of designers

due to the rapid development of mold manufacturing enterprises and the relative lag of social education and training, the engineering and technical personnel of mold manufacturing enterprises have been in short supply in the past 20 years. In particular, it is difficult to find middle and senior personnel, which is also one of the fundamental reasons for the high mobility of engineering and technical personnel in mold enterprises. The biggest difficulties caused by the large-scale flow of engineering and technical personnel to enterprises include: the knowledge differences of new engineering and technical personnel; Inconsistent working habits of new employees; The quality of the moulds manufactured by the company is unstable

these three defects will produce a large number of undesirable design and process errors. Every year, enterprises must spend a lot of time and economic cost to make new employees cooperate with the enterprise. These errors not only cause economic and time losses to enterprises, but also increase the workload of engineering and technical personnel. Many engineering and technical personnel in mold manufacturing enterprises work overtime every day. For a long time, this also increases the occurrence of errors. In fact, as long as the operators of mold manufacturing enterprises can adjust their concept of technical management, it will not take much time to change this situation. That is, from "requirements" to "requirements plus guidance" based on the accumulation of classification to solve these two problems

with the development of mold manufacturing enterprises, few enterprises have made all kinds of molds. In other words, each unit has its own market positioning and manufacturing expertise or characteristics, which is what we call particularity. Some simply engage in single processing, which is also a trend of the development of the mold industry (not discussed here)

the current internal technology management mode of mold manufacturing enterprises is listed in Table 1 in the form of process with the management mode of "requirements plus guidance" based on the accumulation of classification that I want to discuss with you. II. Definition of current general technology management mode process

the current general process of mold manufacturing technology management mode is:

· accept technical documents: it refers to accepting various technical documents from customers or designated departments at the beginning of the project, and digesting their technical requirements. On this basis:

1 Clarify whether the company can undertake the project

2. Whether the customer is requested to change the original design due to processing needs

3. If yes, how long will it take

4. Whether special processing is required

5. Assessment of manufacturing risks, etc

then submit relevant issues to the business department for negotiation with the customer or relevant departments

· preparation of design instructions: after clarifying the project requirements, according to the actual ability of the company, prepare the requirements of structural design, overall design, procurement, process design, indicators that must be achieved in the processing process, general requirements of quality control, requirements of outsourced processing, conditions that must be achieved after manufacturing and before commissioning, requirements of additional accessories and vulnerable parts Appearance and packaging requirements and suggestions on the time required for the normal implementation of each project

· 3D modeling: this project is generally started when the design guide is prepared. The purpose is to verify the correctness of the technical documents provided by customers or relevant departments and meet the needs of subsequent design, processing and testing

· mold structure design: select a reasonable mold structure according to the requirements of customers or relevant departments, the requirements of manufacturing process, and the parameters of molding equipment, and submit the designed mold structure diagram to the review in the clearest and shortest time. The submitted design must be marked with the version number, and the list of main items to be purchased with the longest procurement cycle must be submitted at the same time

· structure review: the personnel of the review team will review the rationality, safety, mold service life (stability and reliability), economy, processing capacity, delivery cycle and whether the submitted mold structure diagram and the list of main items to be purchased meet the requirements of customers or relevant departments. Summarize and give written feedback to the design department according to the review opinions for design modification; If the review is passed, the design department will submit the mold structure design drawing to the business department for the written approval of the customer or relevant departments

· customer approval: after receiving the mold structure design, the customer or relevant departments put forward written documents of negation, modification or acceptance of the structure design, and put forward specific reasons for negation and modification

· structural adjustment review: if the customer puts forward the requirements of negating and modifying the structural design, the design department will submit the adjusted or redesigned scheme and purchase list for review again. The requirements of the review are basically the same as those of the first time, but the focus is different. Mainly pay attention to the rationality, service life and economy of the structure and the satisfaction of customer requirements. After passing the review, the design department shall submit it to the business department again until the customer approves it

overall design: Based on the mold structure design approved by the customer, carry out the complete design of the mold according to the customer's requirements, and supplement or adjust the purchase list. The key dimensions of the parts that affect the quality of the mold must be marked. Finally, proofreading

process design: it often goes hand in hand with the overall design. Design the processing technology of the parts of the mold and determine the use of cutting tools to ensure that the design requirements are met. In principle, its programming needs to be preserved for a period of time after the mold is provided to the customer or relevant departments, and the written processing technology will not be retained for a long time

put into use: all drawings, processes and procedures put into use must be marked with version number, and the written ones must be stamped with relevant seals. In case of local changes to drawings, processes and procedures during use, the changed designer must sign and make a brief memorandum on the technical documents used and temporarily archived by the technical department

document archiving: after the completion of the project, the design department will transfer the complete external technical documents and design documents provided by the customer or relevant departments to the technical archives for permanent archiving

file adjustment and review: after the completion of the project, the technical documents can be accessed from the technical archives by going through the formalities if necessary

design change: This is the most common phenomenon in mold manufacturing enterprises at present. There are no more than two reasons: changes required by customers and changes required within the enterprise. I didn't reflect it in the flow chart, because design changes may occur at all stages. The changes proposed by the customer are not discussed here. Changes within an enterprise are often caused by design errors or omissions found during manufacturing, or drawings are changed due to unqualified parts during manufacturing

this technology management mode has also been formed and continuously improved by many enterprises and experts for many years. Its biggest weakness is that it is not consistent in its understanding of matters - it is only because the technical work needs to be managed. We should further classify the existing technical data and systematically accumulate them consciously, so that these accumulated data can give full play to their multiple functions: accumulation of technical data, standardization of mold design, rapid training of mold design, etc

third, the technology management mode based on the accumulation of classification

according to the past classification of China Mold Association, molds can be divided into: stamping molds (including stretching molds, knife molds, etc.), plastic molds (including thermoplastic, thermosetting molds, blowing, sucking molds, rolling, lining molds, etc.), forging molds (including extrusion molds), die-casting molds, rubber molds, powder metallurgy molds, wire drawing molds, non-metallic molds Glass mold (including ceramic mold) and mold standard parts

I believe that all mold manufacturing enterprises should, according to their current situation, make classification regulations and number the molds they are willing to contract. For example, automobile stamping dies belong to the automobile category, which are labeled with the letter "Q", followed by the category of stamping dies, which are numbered with the letter "CY", followed by the generic number, such as the type of interior parts, which are numbered with the letter "n", and then follow up with the number, drawing number, edition number, specific name, etc. currently used by our companies. It's not difficult to do everything, which is one of the important basic work

the second important basic work is to require designers to develop a design database. The functions of this design database are as follows:

1 Common data and graphics of mold standard parts (some design software has this function itself, and some standard parts companies can provide standard parts data and graphics)

2. Common mold structure drawing library. This needs to be developed by ourselves, because the molds we make are basically different. For example, as far as I know, Wuxi Southeast University has developed a version of the commonly used injection mold structure schematic library

3. Common mold parts library. This also needs to be developed by themselves. However, their common parts can be serialized (the demand gap for new copper alloy functional materials in China is becoming larger and larger, and those who can develop the basic structure library of molds are able to develop the common parts library). As far as I know, this kind of database software is readily available, but the content can only be put in at any time

after having these foundations, the new management mode of design work is:

accept technical documents: it refers to accepting various types of technical documents sent from customers or designated departments at the beginning of the project and digesting their technical requirements. On this basis, clarify whether the company can undertake the project; Whether the customer is requested to change the original design due to processing needs; If yes, how long will it take; Whether special processing is required; Assessment of manufacturing risks, etc. Then submit relevant issues to the business department for negotiation with the customer or relevant departments

preparation of design instructions: after clarifying the project requirements, according to the actual ability of the company, prepare the requirements of structural design, overall design, procurement, process design, necessary indicators in the processing process, and quality control
